I believe that Ender's Game was the best book because it kept me guessing about what was going to happen. I couldn't not see what was going to happen next.

My favorite book was To Kill a Mockingbird because Scout and the other characters kept the story entertaining and exciting. It also helped me learn a lot about racism.

My favorite novel is Ender's game because it has alot of thinking and critical thinking. Along with epic battles that make Ender think how to defeat the buggers in the future.

Good point Clayton. Good Point!

the most dangerous game because it was very interesting because a guy was being hunted

My favorite book out of all the books we have read thus far in my Roncalli career was Ender's Game.I thought Ender's Game was a spectacular movie because of the miraculous events that happen that you don't expect. I fell in love with this novel from the beginning of it till the end!

I think the best story so far in High School was Lamb to the Slaughter because it kept you thinking and kept you on the edge of your seat. The one time were i though it was the most exciting was when the detective said i think the clue is under our noses.

Masque of the red death was my favorite book because it had that synister(sp?) mood when they mentioned the clock and how the rooms were set up

csmith said...

Ender's Game is a great story telling the tale of a small boy named Andrew Wiggin. He would soon become a great leader in an intergalatic war.

To kill a hummingbird?
hahaa!

Well, to answer your question Ms. Striby, i thought that my favorite story i have read would have to be The Most Dangerous Game. I like the way that the villian was so evil and how clever the main character, i couldnt wait to see what trap he would come up with next.

pcheek said...

i agree with Colin it was because it was cool.

rstenger said...

I really liked Lamb to the Slaughter. I like that fact that i would have never ever guessed that she was going to kill her husband.

Domenic Ierovante said...

EPIC Fail to the buggers..but it is kind of sad how people misunderstood them.

SimplyReal said...

I didn't like Enders game because it didn't entertain me at all. I thought it was boring.

B. Ajamie said...

Yes Brendan, we did read it in 8th grade and I liked it. I was glad that we were reading it again last year. But I think Mrs. Striby explained it better.

csharp said...

reading is my favorite thing in the WORLD!!! thank god for books, i love all books

csmith said...

Patrick, you are very dull then. I believe the book had a good story base and the sequel is great so far. I intend to read the sequel to Ender's Shadow soon.

Katie Silvers said...

To Kill a Mockingbird was very interesting and entertaining.

B Massing said...

Cheek you dont like to read to you

Ender's Game was the best novel I have read in high school so far. I like this story because it was exciting and had lots of action. Such as when Ender fought the two boys that were bigger than him.

SimplyReal said...

I agree. I also liked Lamb to the Slaughter. =)

asimpson said...

Ender's game is the best enough said because of the non-stop guessing and the adventure of hunting the buggers and the nonsuspecting ending that happends

alex said...

I agree with Collin, To kill a moking bird is the best book we have read.

pcheek said...

You ARE CORRECT!!!!!!!

clynch said...

To Kill A Mockingbird was Terrible. It was kinda dull, the only good part was when Boo killed that guy.....yea

arodriguez said...

I agree with you Seth, it was interesting and exciting to see each new trap the main character set up to try and fool the general.

B Massing said...

I agree in some parts. I believe that she explained the trial scene better. but Ms. D made it fun by letting all of us be characters in the story.

csharp said...

? whats wrong

SimplyReal said...

hi jamie! =)

B. Ajamie said...

I also really liked Lamb to the Slaughter. I liked how we knew that she killed her husband, yet the cops did not know. So it gave a twist to the story.

Domenic Ierovante said...

I never read mocking bird book so I don't know what it is about. Fill me in please.

csmith said...

Another book I like is The Picture of Dorian Gray. It was and epic tale about a man so self-absorbed that he became immortal because he sold his soul to stay beautiful forever. Not a great ending though.

Katie Silvers said...

I liked Dead Man's Pocket. It was really suspensful and it was short. I didn't get bored reading it.

vpinna said...

"idk, my bff jill" HAHA! Get it? Because we"re not supposed to talk in internet slang.... I think I'm funny.
Anywho, as an actor, I have always enjoyed "brushing up on my shakespeare" as it is said in the theatre. I believe that actors that are well aversed in historical drama and master works actually are better on stage. If you have been doing theatre as long as I have and seen as many shows as I have, you can tell the difference between a trained actor who knows what their doing and an amateur. So I have always tried to read as many plays as I can.
So my favorite book/script we've read in our 1 1/2 years here at RH of S is Romeo and Juliet. It is classic! I highly advise that you all go out and read more Shakespeare, even just the Cliff Notes. Because when you know Shakespeare and other master peices of drama, people think you're really smart!!!
